Hi, I'm Bridget. I'm really glad you're here!
Let me explain: I have a chronic illness called lupus. Lupus = wolf in latin. So, the illustration on the blog is supposed to represent me facing lupus.
I'm a Mom who gets to stay home with my three little girls. My husband is in medical school and graduates in May of 2012. I started this blog to try and keep a record of the ups and downs of lupus along with composing a rememberance-type journal of the experiences I've had with my illness in the past, just never written about. I've come really close to death a few times. It's been really hard, but to balance things out I've been really blessed with a constant flood of God's perfect love. (Thanks, God.)
I try every day to make the best of the situation and I wouldn't be able to make it without the help of my friends and family. Their support and prayers along with some wonderful doctors have saved my life many times.
I dream of being completely healthy and waking up every morning ready to begin the day without pain medication. I hope that smart doctor people can come up with better treatments for auto-immune diseases very soon. (I don't see why we can go to the moon, but still have to rely on steroids for treatment.)
I pray for everyone who ever reads this blog and ask for your prayers in return.
Jesus, I trust in you.
p.s. Below are some fun photos of me and my family over the years. The one at the top of the page is of me and Brilyn (the oldest) just moments after she was born.
